The study of a world region is intended to provide liberal arts majors with a broad, integrated overview of the influences that have shaped, and continue to shape, its internal evolution as well as the role it plays in the world. The Western European Studies major introduces students to the cultural, economic, historical and political forces, arising inside and outside the region, that have combined to determine the past, present and future of Western Europe.
Students pursuing thedegree are required to complete a minimum of two years of foreign language study in a language appropriate to the chosen specialization. Coursework completed at OSU or abroad and/or appropriate placement test results can document this.
Those choosing to complete the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree must complete a minor in one of the following areas: Agribusiness, Business, City and Regional Planning, Environmental Science, Geographic Information Science, Global Public Health, Information Security, International Business, Quantitative Economics.
