INTSTDS 3650: A World Divided? Place, Space, and Regions in World Affairs
This course embraces a new approach to world regions by focusing on the ways that the constantly changing social and physical features of our planet are intertwined with, and inform, world affairs. Students will investigate how global patterns of migration, climate change, urbanization, and resource distribution shape and are shaped by political, economic, and cultural forces.
This exploration is carried out in this class through a focus on contemporary geographical issues that reveal the diverse and dynamic social and physical environments we inhabit. This course will equip students with tools to analyze and interpret the complex relationships between people, places, and environments in today’s world.
