Public Service at Home and Abroad: My Experiences in City Year and Peace Corps
Ladan Ibrahim is a 2016 OSU alum who majored in Political Science. She first served as a City Year volunteer from 2016 to 2017 at South high School, where she engaged with primarily eight grade students. Her City Year experience inspired her to apply to the Peace Corps, where she taught English as a Second Language instructor in Myanmar from 2018-2020. Ladan currently lives in Mexico City and works for a Washington DC-based firm, and will be starting a graduate program in Global Development at Cornell in the Fall. Through her unique engagement with both domestic and international public service programs, Ladan will share her stories, perspectives, and impacts from both her Peace Corps and City Year experiences. City Year representative Lauren Toomey and Peace Corps representative Laura Joseph will share additional information about their programs.
