Winner of the Fred C. and E. Maxine Moose Bruhns Scholarship for Study in the Middle East!
Congratulations to the winner of the 2022-23 Fred C. and E. Maxine Moose Bruhns Scholarship competition, Rachel Slywczak! Rachel was awarded $2,000 towards her planned trip to Morocco this summer.
Rachel Slywczak is a third-year student from Kinsman, Ohio, majoring in International Studies, with a minor in Arabic. After graduating, Rachel hopes to go to law school. She loves baking, reading, and traveling and is so excited to visit Morocco this summer!
“The program I plan to enroll in is a language immersion through Amideast Education Abroad in Rabat, Morocco. Students take Modern Standard Arabic courses and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic courses five times a week, five hours a day, with planned field trips throughout the program. Students stay with a host family in Rabat, giving them the chance to fully immerse themselves in the language and culture.”
